What a whirlwind past few weeks getting the kids settled into school. Much to my surprise, school photos are a lot sooner than they were last year, and it got me thinking. Being a photographer, I never purchase the photos – mostly because last year I noticed my daughters profile on the left AND right side, only the right side wasn’t her right, it was her left. Which only means that they took one photo and mirrored it in photoshop. Since she has a defining feature on one side, I instantly knew that they did this and it was just off for me. Needless to say, I just took her out and shot her for 10 minutes and voila! A beautiful image for us to hang and hand out to our family.

That got me thinking HOW MANY OTHER PARENTS FEEL THIS WAY ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN(S) PHOTOS? This is why this year I am running a special through September only – bring me your school order form, or a copy of it, and I will honor those prices for a 15 minute shoot with your son or daughter. That’s it. No sitting fee, and YOU get to choose the image that you hang up and pass out to your family. There is a catch;)You get to choose from 1 of 3 places and it will be an individual image of your son/daughter. No siblings or family. However, if you are going to pay for the school photos, why not get them outside with a beautiful background and awesome light, rather than on a neon green background that doesn’t even match the outfit?!?!?

So, I am not known to be a wiz at many things, but I am known for my determination to make things work!!! (and on my budget!) I was in desperate need of a website makeover, and was able to do it and all it cost me was 3 late nights (but what’s considered late when you have a newborn?)

Lately I have been asked if I would consider giving a class on how to use your camera, lighting, mostly the basics so that mom’s and dad’s can get good photos of their children running, jumping and just of their everyday life. Well, the time has come!!! I am introducing the Live.Laugh.Click workshops. We will take time to go over your camera and a few basics so that you become comfortable in what you are doing and stop getting those blurry photos!! The workshops will be on May 11th and May 25th from 6-9pm.

Because I have a new site and started the workshops, I have decided to GIVE AWAY A FREE SEAT to one of the workshops. All you have to do is comment here, on the post, and tell me why I should choose you. One winner will be chosen Next Wednesday.
